Official Paris Catacombs Tickets vs Resellers vs Tours
Updated October 27, 2026
Verdict
Buy the official ticket (€31 with audio guide) if a slot is free for your date: it is the cheapest way in. If the official calendar is sold out or not yet open for your date, a reseller ticket ($43) gets the same visit; and if you want a live guide or the areas behind locked gates, only a guided tour (from $156) offers them.
There are two ways to buy Paris Catacombs tickets: from the official ticket office run by the City of Paris, or from resellers and tour companies on marketplaces such as GetYourGuide. Both get you through the same door onto the same route. They differ on price, how far ahead you can book, whether you can cancel, and whether anyone guides you.
| Criterion | Official ticket (catacombes.paris.fr) | Reseller ticket or guided tour |
|---|---|---|
| Price | €31 full, €25 reduced, audio guide included | $43 for the entry ticket; guided tours $156–$234 |
| How far ahead you can book | Slots released 7 days ahead | Further ahead; dates months out are bookable |
| Availability | Sells out within the 7-day window | Often still available when the official site is full, but also sells out |
| Cancellation | Per the official terms | Entry ticket non-refundable; tours and the cruise combo free up to 24 h |
| Guide | Audio guide | Audio guide on the entry ticket; live guide on tours |
| Restricted areas | No | Yes, on the three guided tours |
The official ticket
The City of Paris sells timed tickets online on catacombes.paris.fr, at €31 including the audio guide, or €25 at the reduced rate. Slots go on sale seven days ahead and there is no ticket desk for standard tickets on site. If you can book within that window and your slot is free, nobody sells the standard visit for less.
Reseller tickets
Resellers sell timed entries at a markup. The most booked one on GetYourGuide costs $43, about $8 above the official price, and includes the same audio guide. You pay the premium for availability: on 27 October 2026 its next free slot was 10 November, while the official window only reached a week ahead. It is non-refundable.
Guided tours
Tours include the entry, a live English-speaking guide and gates opened into areas closed to regular visitors. The cheapest with special access is $156 for up to 14 people; the restricted access tour is $212 for seven or fewer. All three on this site can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before, which the reseller entry ticket cannot.
Watch out for look-alike sites
Search results for 'official Catacombs tickets' include resellers whose sites look official. The official sales site is catacombes.paris.fr, run by Paris Musées for the City of Paris. This site is not official either: it is an independent guide that earns a commission when you book through it.
